Franciscan Sisters Share Dorm with University Students

Global Sisters Report recently shared an article originally published in the Philadelphia Inquirer about Neumann University setting up a dorm that houses both university students and the Sisters of St. Francis. Student Kayla Patino shared, “You look at sisters and think of them as always very strict and not people themselves. Living with them made me realize that they were people before they became sisters.” Sister Jane LaManna, possibly in reference to an old Johnny Cash classic and crowd favorite, remarked “Being with the young is like a shot of cocaine. Stronger than that!” The article is an uplifting read and is an example of how youth and elders, even from different cultural backgrounds, can find joy in living together.
